Vice President Maj. Jessica Alupo has applauded Uganda’s diplomatic ties with Ethiopia which she says has enabled strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.
The VP made the remarks during a meeting with Uganda’s ambassador to Ethiopia, also former minister for northern Uganda Amb. Rebecca Amuge Otengo who paid a courtesy visit to HE Alupo at her office.
Alupo said she was impressed by our contribution in Ethiopia as Uganda and also applauded all other African leaders for their continued support to development and unity of the African people.
Uganda and Ethiopia have been allies on many issues mainly those concerning regional security. They were among the first African nations to rally for AU intervention in Somalia resulting into deployment of AMISOM whose contribution toward pacification of hitherto war-torn Somalia is enormous.
They are also both strong members of the Inter Government Authority on Development (IGAD) also another organization seeking for stability and development of the region.
