VP Alupo Roots For Better Schools In Kamuli District, Pledges To Work With Min. Kataha To Improve Them

Vice President Jessica Alupo has pledged to work together with the First Lady, also Minister for Education and Sports Janet Kataha Museveni to improve on the poor schools in Kamuli district.
Citing Buwala primary school which hosted the district’s Women’s Day Celebrations, Alupo also promised to work together with First deputy premier Rt Hon. Rebecca Kadaga who’s also the district’s woman legislator to lobby for infrastructure such as roads and hospitals especially Maternity wards in the entire Busoga subregion.


Alupo also promised to work together with the local governments in Busoga to help push the programs that have already been scheduled by government.


“I want to thank Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga for being nationalistic, committed to issues affecting Busoga and women in this country consistently” she said.


The VP who has spent days in Busoga donated Shs30m to Kamuli district women council to boost their development activities meant to improve on their income.


Alupo who was in Kamuli on the invitation by Kadaga who’s also the minister for East African Community, also hailed women of Kamuli for exhibiting teamwork and urged them to embrace PDM program meant to benefit them.

Meanwhile, Kadaga called for empowerment of the girl child through technology, Education and togetherness for prosperity.
She also decried the high child pregnancy in Busoga and called for concerted efforts to reduce this burden. She said this has badly affected the education progress in the subregion as it leads to school dropout.


She delivered to the sub-county women council chairpersons and other stakeholders copies of the report on the social economic burden of child pregnancy in the Busoga sub region.
Kadaga also recognized with certificates to actors who have made significant contributions to the women’s efforts in Kamuli district over time.
