President Museveni has appointed, the widow to former ministry of defense Permanent Secretary Brig. Nobel Mayombo to High Court as a judge.
Kaahwa has been working as a commissioner in judiciary according to Inspectors.
Ms Kaahwa Christine is among the 16 new judges of the high court whom Museveni has named with a view of boasting the capacity of the court to expeditiously execute its mandate at that High Court level.
Museveni in his appointment of these judges whom he says are in acting capacity for two years brought in nine women and seven men.
Other notable appointees include Mr Ocaya Thomas who has been in private practice working
with Karugire & Kiryowa Advocates. He was also a defence lawyer in the presidential election case filed by NUP principal Robert Kyagulanyi last year.
Another key appointee is Mr. Acellam Collins, an Acholi by tribe. Inspectors say he served as a Senior State Artoney but now has been in private practice in Fort Portal.
The appointment of Ms Kaahwa brings a smile to the people of Tooro with a hope that their road infrastructure maybe worked upon. Of particular importance is the road that goes to late Mayombo place. It is reported to be in a terrible state that; the judge may have to add her voice on that of other government officials from Tooro to advocate for it’s improvement.
“The road is in a terrible state and that is the only debt Batoro want fulfilled. This road (Kijura) has tea, coffee, dairy and of late khart or mairungi” says an inspector.
On top of the economic sense it makes to the country, this very road takes government bigwigs to their homes including former EAC deputy Secretary General in charge of political federation Beatrice Kiraso, former coordinator of COVID taskforce Maj. Gen. Robert Rusoke, former ISO boss and now Uganda ambassador to South Sudan Brig. Ronnie Barya, former Human Rights Commissioner Col. Steven Omuduumizi Basaliza and state minister for health Margaret Mugisa Muhanga among others.

Clarke coffee factory and estates up to Col Butime’s next constituency” says an inspector.
