State Rubbishes Letter On Social Media Alleging Presence of Rebel Group

Kirunda

State House has rubbished a letter circulating on social media platforms alleging that president Museveni has directed CMI to arrest 10 prominent individuals on allegations of treason.

The letter which State House says is fake claimed that the president had obtained information pinning a number of people including a top official in Mengo as being part of the financiers of the ongoing terror targeting security forces.

In the letter, it was claimed that the 10 people had been funding a rebel group and that the president asked for their immediate arrest and charging before the general court martial.

However, State House’s deputy spokes person Faruk Kirunda clarified that the said letter is fake and should be disregarded by the public, adding that the work of investigating and arresting criminals is that of police not State House.
Hereunder is the letter by State House.
