Bobi Wine stings Besigye: Your Brazil lost Because Of Yellow Curse!

Opposition political kingpin Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine believes the soccer gods ejected Brazil from the 2022 world cup because of wearing a ‘wrong colour’.

The national unity platform boss made the bizarre analysis while aiming a cheeky dig at his buddy and political mentor, col. Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Bobi’s taunt was in response to a post Besigye made on his Facebook page to express his shock and frustration at Brazil’s painful exit from Qatar at the hands of a resilient Croatian side.

A certified soccer fan, Besigye revealed that he is an ardent Brazil supporter who was therefore saddened by the samba boys’ defeat despite the fact that they were favorites going into the crunch tie.

“World cup surprises!! Outside Africa, I am an eternal Brazil supporter. Soccer is, indeed, soccer! Brazil goes home. Congratulations Croatia!!” Besigye posted.
Going for hilarious football banter, Bobi Wine crept to the comment section to taunt Besigye for supporting a team in ‘wrong colours’. He then told the old Colonel to rally behind Morocco, who are incidentally Africa’s only remaining representatives.

“You should have told me that Brazil was your team, Doctor. I would have worked my magic and they win. When I saw them wearing the wrong colour, I prayed that they lose. Now we have no choice but to unite behind #Morocco,” Bobi Wine commented. It should be noted that Morocco wears a red national jersey while Brazil don the Yellow colour!

Fans poke back
However, football fans took the chance to also have a go at Bobi Wine, with many urging him to use his ‘magic’ to oust Gen. Yoweri Museveni. Others accused him of politicizing everything, while some even went ahead to advise him to go slow on Morocco, which has received huge criticism for trying to act Un-African. This is in light of comments in which Moroccan winger Sofiane Boufal ‘forgot’ to acknowledge African support after the atlas Lions’ famous victory over Spain which made morocco the fourth African nation to reach the world cup quarter final stage after Cameroon, Senegal, and Ghana.

Boufal however apologized for his mishap and remembered Africa saying; “I apologize for not mentioning the whole African continent yesterday at the interview, thank you for being there for us. I dedicate this win for you too. We are so proud to represent all our brothers from this continent.”
Morocco take on Portugal today Saturday while England takes on France. Victory will see Morocco become the first African country to reach a world cup semi-final while it will also likely earn Africa a 9th slot (through playoffs) at the 2026 world cup in Mexico, USA & Canada.
