How Ministers Received Gen. Museveni After 11 Days Of Sickness

VP Alupo, Jeje Odongo wave to Museveni with their masks on as Nakadama looks on

SOME MINISTERS REFUSED TO WEAR FACE MASKS, OTHERS DID

By Moussa Kankiriho

On Monday, cabinet sat.

H.E Gen. Yoweri Museveni attended and chaired the meeting. However, even as he had been on sick leave after suffering from Corona Virus, some ministers seemed unbothered as they refused to wear masks. With the health ministry always preaching to the masses to wear masks as one way to contain the spread of the virus, some ministers shockingly didn’t heed.

When Museveni entered the meeting, every minister reacted in his or her own style. Some kept their masks high in their faces, while others put them on their cheeks and others completely ignored the idea.

Our inspectors indicated that there were serious murmurs among ministers with some accusing their colleagues of having ‘learnt nothing’ from the situation which for the last 53 years, had sent Gen. Museveni on forced leave.

We can authoritatively report that the ‘defiant’ crew included 3rd deputy premier Lukia Nakadama, Energy minister Ruth Nankabirwa, investment state minister Evelyn Anite among others. There was also Judith Nabakooba, the lands minister who acted like she was a non-aligned member. She had a mask but neither wore it or removed it.

“She decided to put the mask on her cheeks. It was therefore not clear whether she opposes the mask idea or she accepts that it contains the spread of the virus” explained an inspector.

Rukia Nakadama, Nankabirwa welcome Museveni without masks

Those who wore the face masks included health minister Jane Ruth Aceng, foreign affairs minister Jeje Odongo, Vice president Jessica Alupo, defense minister Vincent Ssempijja, AG Kiwanuka Kiryowa, Gender minister Betty Amongi, Chief whip Hamson Obua, Ethic state minister Akello Rose Lilly, Kampala minister Minsa Kabanda and tourism minister Ephraim Kamuntu.

According to state house deputy spokesperson Faruk Kirunda, Museveni resumed official work yesterday after recovering from Covid.

“President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today resumed official work as Head-of-State, a day after confirming that he has recovered from Covid-19. President Museveni who has been under self-isolation at Nakasero State Lodge after testing positive for Covid-19, eleven (11) days ago, today travelled to State House-Entebbe to chair the cabinet meeting” he said in a statement issued last evening.

Kirunda said Gen. Museveni was in company of the First Lady, who is also the Minister of Education and Sports, Mama Janet Museveni.
