As Christmas draws near, President Yoweri Museveni has challenged Ugandans to borrow a leaf from Jesus Christ whom he says was a faithful servant of the people.
The first citizen says Ugandans ought to learn and follow the steps of the only son of God and work hard for themselves, families and the nation towards development.
“We delight and remember Christ as a faithful servant of the people” he said in a speech delivered by his 2iC, Maj. Jessica Alupo who represented him at the 9th Eumenical Annual Christmas Carol Festival held at Sheraton hotel.
Museveni noted that Ugandans may copy from Jesus Christ by fully participating in development programs initiated by government so as to make Uganda and Africa proud.
“Government has put in place the Parish development Model and other wealth creation initiatives. I encourage you to participate in them so as to make Uganda
and Africa proud. We all have a part to play in ensuring self reliance and sustainability” the General from Rwakitura said through his loyal Vice President who is also the Katakwi district woman representative.
The head of state commended the organizers of the event and the
leadership of the Uganda Choristers Association. He said such an occasion is also a highlight of the birth and ministry of Jesus Christ.
“Today we witness not only music packaged as Christmas Carols but also a product or fruit of the Ugandan Choristers Association. This is a high value product that once packaged and presented can be digested internationally for both physical, economical and spiritual nourishment” he noted.
Museveni thus; encouraged the
chorister association to reflect and expand it for greater benefit.
He thanked all participants for offering valuable time to participate and expose their talent through music and glorification of God.
“I pray that you are greatly rewarded” he said and wished everyone joyful Christmas musical celebrations.
