Gen. Museveni Emboldens Bazzukulu On Their Fight Against Thieves In Govt, Asks Them To File Evidence!

Uzeiye reporting bazzukulu issues to Museveni

President Museveni has emboldened his Bazzukulu movement led by Hajat Uzeiye Namyalo Hadijah in their fight against thugs in government.

The president who’s also the commander in chief, has thus given directives to Bazzukulu to ensure that they use all possible means within their reach to record all those who are involved in corrupt tendencies especially when it comes to awarding jobs at district level.

The directive came after the Senior Presidential Advisor/Personal Assistant in the ONC Hajjat Hadijah Uzeiye Namyalo informed the President about the discontent of Bazzukulu arising from massive corruption in government and local governments. She also informed him that the Bazzukulu are angry with the unending bureaucracy in government departments which she said is frustrating the common people in accessing basic government services.

Hajjat Namyalo is these days involved in a campaign against the corrupt and has vowed to push ahead with a campaign to expose them since they tarnish the image of the president and the NRM party.

Uzeiye says such individuals are crippling government efforts to realize the socioeconomic transformation of all Ugandans.

At a luncheon meeting for a team of medical doctors and engineers sponsored by State House yesterday at Kololo, some of those corrupt officials mentioned were members of the District Service Commissions which were accused of extorting from poor bazzukulu seeking recruitment at district level.

A tough talking Museveni who officiated at the function responded to chief Muzzukulu Uzeiye saying the bazzukulu should record and report the corrupt District Service Commissioners who extort money from them in exchange for jobs.

“On District Service Commissions, the theory was that these are nearer to the people and would be concerned. If they are corrupt, get us evidence we will arrest them. Bazzukulu should now wage this war and publicize them”. Museveni directed.

Museveni also envisaged a situation where Uganda will be free from 75% diseases especially if the prevention concept in the health sector is prioritized.

“Through public health, medical doctors can eliminate most of the sicknesses that affect citizens. These are the facts because many of those sicknesses are preventable so you as the new generation you should really get that and make it part of your DNA in terms of professional services so that you help your people when you get a chance to avoid these sicknesses; diseases of ignorance such as malaria,” Museveni said.

He said once they adopt the prevention method, most of the diseases can be avoided.

“For example, if you sensitize the communities where you will be deployed on how to use the latrines, sleeping under treated mosquito nets and using clean water.” he advised.

President Museveni also thanked the science team for utilizing the scholarship well and finishing their studies on time. He said these scholarships started after the war in Luweero and were meant to benefit the orphans.

Gen. Museveni added that the State House scholarships have benefited many students to study from primary, secondary up to university.

“Most of the beneficiaries would be the orphans from Luweero, however we later considered science students who performed well. I call upon the scientists not to only concentrate on treating people but help the communities where they come from to develop and fight poverty by sensitizing them to embrace government programs, like the Parish Development Model” he said.
