Celebrated Vice President of Uganda also Katakwi District woman legislator Maj. Jessica Alupo is already a guest in Rwandan capital-Kigali.
The deputy National Authorizing Officer is in Kigali to represent her boss President Yoweri Museveni at the 30th Commemoration of the Genocide in Rwanda against the Tutsi in 1994.
The Vice President was received with pomp by Hon. Dr. Claudine Uwera, the Minister of State for Environment of the Republic of Rwanda, and H.E (rtd) Maj. Gen. Robert Rusoke, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda to Rwanda.

Clad in a green kitenge with black spots, a visibly jovial Alupo arrived in Kigali aboard RwandAir, an indication of flourishing bilateral relations between the two sister nations.

Alupo was a fortnight ago reaffirmed as the No.2 of the country in a slight cabinet amendment by Gen. Museveni.

The reappointment which was well received by all corners, came just a week after Museveni had bestowed upon workholic Alupo a prestigious medal in the land which has only been awarded to African icons like Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, the former president of Tanzania among other icons on the continent. Museveni commended her for the job well done in various aspects including fighting for women economic empowerment.

Alupo was also hailed by citizens for being well articulate at national, regional and international fora whenever she is deployed to represent the Head of State and the country at large.
