Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the Member of Parliament for Budadiri West, has urged religious leaders and burial organizing teams to regulate burial ceremonies and eliminate unnecessary conflicts and arguments during such events.

Nandala, who is also the Chairman of Bugisu Cooperative Union, criticized the growing tendency in Bugisu to prioritize politics over religious observance during burials.
He cited Lango Region as an example, where burial programs are well-structured, with burials completed by 3:30 PM, a model he believes could be adopted in Bugisu.
The MP also cautioned political mobilizers to control their emotions, especially in what he described as a highly politically charged year.
Nandala made these remarks while serving as the chief mourner at the burial of his long-time supporter, Mafabi Sam Wangota, in Patto, Buwalasi Sub-County, Sironko District.
Rev. Jackson Magombe, the head of clergy in the North Mbale Diocese, also addressed mourners, urging them to live purposeful lives.
In his sermon, Rev. Magombe called on the congregation to wish each other well and to learn from one another. He emphasized that the world would be a safer and better place if people practiced love and goodwill toward one another.
Nandala is said to be having sleepless nights after NRM finalized plans to see him off the Budadiri West politics by deploying Museveni’s alleged incoming Senior Presidential Advisor on Disaster management in Bugisu subregion Barrister Peter Magomu Mashate to oust him as MP. Mashate is Museveni’s private lawyer in London is also a founder member of Museveni’s UPM.
