Several incumbent NRM Members of Parliament from Bugisu subregion are said to be having sleepless nights after it emerged that many of them are trailing in the local opinion polls for those to grab the NRM party flag.

President Museveni has already indicated that he’s soon convening an NRM CEC meeting to deliberate on the NRM electoral roadmap and the digitalized register. This was during a meeting he had with the NRM Secretariat bosses at Rwakitura last evening.
However, while he moves to convene such a crucial meeting, political anxiety and shivers are already taking place among Bugisu incumbent members of parliament after it was indicated that most of them are living on borrowed time politically.
For example, according to local opinion polls by intelligence networks, MPs including embattled Wamakuyu Mudimi, David Wakikona, Goreti Kitutu, Florence Nambozo among others will have to engage the Holy spirit more than usual if they are to get the NRM flag.
“The opinion poll was based on three major aspects including Community-based projects in form of service delivery; Social media platforms and Commitment of coordination team and maintenance of their welfare” the report from Bugisu intelligence network claims but however, said this list will come true with 89% reality only if NRM ticket (primaries) are organized in a free and fair manner. The report gives an insight into who among NRM contestants will get the flag with only a few months remaining to the primaries.
The expose begins with Bulambuli district where it says that the position for district Woman MP will be retained by Eng. Irene Nafuna Muloni.
Muloni is credited for among others working tirelessly on the issue of resettling the people affected by mudslides not only in her district but also in the entire Bugisu Sub-Region.
It should be recalled that about a month ago, mudslides hit Bulambuli district where locals suggest that 48 homestades with about 111 people were buried by the soils. The soils according to technocrats buried them four meters deep, the reason more bodies are being recovered on a daily basis. Actually, Inspectors said the number of casualties has risen to over 40 after Gen. Museveni recently gave four excavators to help in digging out the soils for possible discovery of more bodies. On top of this, the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja tasked the district leaders to ensure that the resettlement program is done within three months.
“The President’s visit to Bulambuli was timely and very purposeful. Equally, the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja’s efforts to have this matter addressed have helped a lot. Right now, mapping and verification of families to be resettled is ongoing. Nabbanja gave every district 10 days to do this verification so that government can know the number of people to be resettled. Those already in camps and those in high risk areas are all being documented” explained a top Inspector.
We’re told, these efforts are moving at such a high speed courtesy of Irene Nafuna Muloni who has camped in the Sub-Region since November acting as the overall overseer of the entire resettlement program locally. We’re told she keeps updating the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja and Gen. Yoweri Museveni on the progress.
“Therefore, the success of this program will greatly impact NRM ratings in Bugisu which is currently politically volatile. This is why Eng. Muloni is now at the center of it to try and make it possible after years of it’s failure. It’s therefore, not surprising, she’s rated highly within Bulambuli district and Bugisu at large than any other person here” an inspector said, adding that Nabbanja wants the resettlement done to enable people participate in the PDM and the electoral process.

“The Prime Minister is keen to have this done so that those people don’t lose their right to vote. They’re Ugandans who should enjoy all rights like others. Therefore, Muloni is doing wonders in Bugisu hence her good ratings back in Bulambuli district” an inspector involved in this research said.
In other districts like Sironko, we have the state minister for Karamoja affairs Florence Nambozo who unfortunately, doesn’t feature on this said update with Aisha Lumolo, daughter to the NRM chairman Sironko district Sulaiman Lomolo instead threatening to grab the flag. Nambozo is currently an independent though on the ground, locals are aware of her intentions to participate in the primaries.
Maria Goreti Kitutu is also missing on the list and instead, a little known Nafungo Frida is ready to send her cardless.
Hereunder are some of the details in the said opinion poll showing who is taking which seat and from who?
