Release Him Now! UHRC Orders CDF Gen. Muhoozi To Immediately Set Free Bobi Wine’s Bodyguard Eddie Mutwe!

The Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) has directed the Chief of Defense Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to henceforth release Edward Rogers Sebuufu better known as Eddie Mutwe from his custody.

Mutwe is the said chief bodyguard of opposition NUP principal Robert Kyagulanyi Bobi Wine.

According to a letter dated May 2 2025 entitled ‘Release Order’ and penned by UHRC Chairperson Adv. Mariam Wangadya and addressed to Muhoozi, the CDF should do this without any further delays or else, he is held liable for contempt under Article 53(1) (d) of the constitution of Uganda.

“The CDF, whereas Edward Rogers Sebuufu also known as Eddie Mutwe has been in your custody since 26th April 2025, and whereas the Commission is satisfied that he is being unlawfully detained or restricted, this is to DIRECT YOU to cause the immediate release of Eddie Mutwe from your custody failure of which , you may be liable for contempt under Article 53 (1)(d) of the constitution” the letter accessed by The Inspector reads.

The CDF last evening made utterances on his X handle where he confirmed that Mutwe was in his basement. The CDF went ahead and said he would not release the victim as of now suggesting it would be ‘unfair for him and the victim’

The exact reasons for his arrest are not yet known.
