NRM MPs from Buganda have launched a campaign aimed at rejuvenating President Museveni’s fortunes in Buganda region ahead of 2026 elections.
According to the chairman NRM Buganda caucus Robert Migadde Ndugwa, this campaign intends to monitor government’s projects in Buganda region.
“We shall traverse the entire Buganda region to monitor government projects highlighting what has been done and find strategies for what is to be done and ask the people in Buganda to continue supporting President Museveni and NRM at large” Migadde said.
He said after an official launch in Kiboga, the group intends to go to the Islands of Buvuma where he is the area Member of Parliament on March 23 this month.
“I expect Kabaka’s subjects in Buvuma Island to be yellow to welcome NRM party Members of Parliament and other top officials” he added.
According to Migadde, this campaign aims to re-sell President M7 in Buganda region where he says opposition politicians badmouth him and led to the defeat of all his ministers in the 2021 general elections.
“We have opened up a new strategy in Buganda to bring our boss Museveni back on top in Buganda region. The NRM fans in Buvuma are so eager to welcome the newly launched project” he said. Migadde also said the people of Buvuma want Museveni to consider them for a ministerial position and are also ready to host him.
