NRM EC is in punic over a filed petition from candidates pursuing the position of entrepreneurship league Chairperson in NRM party.

Five candidates have handed over a petition to NRM EC boss Dr Tanga Odoi accusing their fellow candidate Hassan Bassajjabalaba of allegedly hiding delegates from their access.

The angry candidates who include Sanjay Tana, Robert Mwesigwa, Philip Kakuru, King Ceasor and Makesh Babubhai said that for over 14 days, they have not  been allowed to access voters.

“We got information from our reliable source that delegates where taken to the neighboring country so that we can not talk to them. We also got information that their national ID’s were confiscated from them” candidates said

“As candidates standing for the position of entrepreneurship league in NRM party, we have unanimously agreed to step aside and want the party EC to investigate the matter as directed by the party chairman (Museveni) during NEC meeting last week” said Sanjay Tana adding that on 17th this month ,we signed a joint petition which was presented to the party chairman (Museveni), EC boss Dr Tanga Odoi, party Secretary general Richard Todwong and all CEC members and later NEC members.

“We also individually pursued this matter through our lawyers to the party EC and we even appeared before CEC and raised a deliberate denial for us to access voters by our fellow candidate” Tana added

They further expressed dissatisfaction to NRM EC for allowing the exercise (election) to go on without sorting their issue.

“We thought that there would be transparency but to our surprise every body is keeping a deaf ear” Tana said

In response, the NRM EC boss Dr Tanga Odoi said “am going to seat with the commission and decide”.

Thousands of NRM delegates gathered at Kololo ceremonial grounds  for the first meeting of the fifth national conference of the special interest groups.
