Rogers Amanyire, the NRM party flag bearer for Masindi Mayoral race is itching to defeat all his opponents after the Electoral Commission officially nominated him for this seat.

Amanyire was duly nominated by the Masindi District Returning officer, Gastervus Kakaire, at the Electoral Commission offices in Masindi Town.
According to Kakaire, Amanyire had successfully fulfilled all the nomination requirements and now a duly nominated candidate for the mayoral seat
“My main agenda will be accountability for the public funds. This is what has been lacking and I want to pledge to improve on the way things are done. I promise to focus on proper accountability for public funds, enhanced service delivery and effective implementation of government programs to uplift the lives of Masindi Municipality residents” Amanyire said.
He went on ‘If elected, I will use my salary to support the people of Masindi Municipality and improve their livelihoods’
He accused the current leaders of the municipality of what he called massive corruption the reason he came to liberate the area. He also talked of poor performance in service delivery; all issues that he said had made the locals suffer.
