KAMPALA — The Anti-Corruption Court has remanded Kayiwa Amir after he was charged with allegedly offering Shs8 million to police officers guarding a crime scene in Wakiso District.
Kayiwa is accused of offering the money on August 29, 2026, at Lubowa in Kajjansi Town Council, in an alleged attempt to gain access to the office of Asimwe Emmanuel at Details Security Company Ltd.

Prosecution alleges that he wanted to enter the office and remove vital evidence while police were investigating the alleged theft of 785 kilogrammes of gold from the company’s premises.
The premises had been secured and cordoned off by police following a complaint over the alleged gold theft.
The court was told that the alleged bribe was intended to persuade officers guarding the scene to allow Kayiwa access to the restricted area.
His case followed investigations involving the anti-corruption unit, the Criminal Investigations Directorate and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Kayiwa was remanded until September 30, when he will return to court for mention of the case.
