It was a moment of joy, celebrations and fireworks in Kakumiro district, as Uganda’s celebrated Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja joined her voters to welcome the new year 2025!

With music playing high and with all partiers’ eyes glued to their watches, jubilations erupted wildly as the clock ticked 00:00hrs on December 31 marking a transition from 2024 to 2025!
Clad in a grey pair of pants accompanied with a well tailored blown blouse, Nabbanja who acted like a clergy, took to the podium shouting with joy as she prayed for a blessed new year for her people and all Ugandans.
Speaking in Luganda, the 2024 Prestigious Global Women Leadership Award winner, asked God Almighty to grant her and everyone a year full of blessings and prosperity.
“Ebisilaani, ebizibu, obwaavu, obugayaavu oba biki, oba biki byonna bigende n’omwaka omukadde. Twagala mikisa omwaka omujja” Nabbanja who is also Kakumiro district Woman MP said which literary translates thus ‘bad luck, problems, poverty and laziness etcetera, let all of them go with the previous year. We pray for blessings in this new year’
So happy and very free with her voters she was, that Nabbanja who is fresh from winning another award after being voted Africa’s Female Leader of the Year 2024, danced to various tunes including popular gospel song ‘Cheza’ and Wilson Bugembe’s song of Katonda Y’abadde Mweno Ensonga’.
“Ssaagala ssawulidde, ssaategedde” Nabbanja who acted like the moment’s Mcee joyously shouted and everyone took to her feet to dance with her!
“I take this opportunity to pray to God to grant everyone of us a year of peace, love, blessings, promotions and development” she said while waving and dancing to Bugembe’s song.
At this juncture, the clock ticked 00:00hrs and fireworks filled the sky amid chantings of NRM Oyeee, Museveni Oyeee!
The voters were so happy with their woman MP that they started giving her cash ranging from 50k to a coins as city singer Ronald Mayinja did his song of ‘Abalina Ssente’
“Eeeeeeh, nfunye omukisa gwamaanyi, bampadde ak’etaano” an excited Nabbanja said amid wild jubilations.

As all this went on, Nabbanja’s media team led by media personality Jingo Francis was busy capturing every moment just like The Inspector was also fully represented by a battalion of Field Inspectors in Kakumiro district. Well, enjoy the video and pictures!
