Kampala —
Uganda’s car market has shifted into a new gear with the official arrival of Jetour, one of China’s most dynamic and fastest-growing automobile brands. At a colourful launch event held at Serena Hotel Kampala Thursday evening, Jetour introduced two standout SUV models — the DASHING and X70 Plus — marking the brand’s bold entry into the Ugandan market.

The global manufacturer has partnered with Al Mamoun East Africa, now the exclusive distributor of Jetour vehicles in Uganda, with a brand-new showroom and fully equipped aftersales service centre already open in Namanve. The company also revealed plans to add the Jetour T2, a compact urban SUV, to its line-up by the end of the year.
A Boost for Uganda’s Automotive Growth
Welcoming Jetour’s entry, Moses Kaggwa, Acting Director at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, described the launch as a timely boost to Uganda’s industrial and economic agenda.
“I thank you for investing in our economy and creating employment for many Ugandans. We pledge to support you,” Kaggwa said.
Jetour: Global Brand, Local Commitment
Founded in 2018 under the Chery Holding Group, Jetour has quickly earned a reputation worldwide for producing “good life cars” — vehicles that combine bold design, smart technology, and everyday practicality. Today, Jetour SUVs are sold in over 30 countries, and now Ugandan drivers can experience the same blend of style, performance, and affordability.
“Our line-up captures exactly what Ugandan motorists are looking for — value, modern design, safety, comfort, and reliability,” said Zein Abdelmutaal, Chief Operating Officer of Al Mamoun East Africa. “We are committed to strong aftersales support, readily available spare parts, and a customer experience that makes owning a Jetour effortless.”
What Makes Jetour SUVs Different
Jetour’s arrival is set to redefine expectations for new cars in Uganda. Here’s why the DASHING and X70 Plus stand out:
- Head-Turning Design: The Jetour DASHING is a compact SUV built for the modern driver — bold, sporty, and futuristic inside and out. Its high-tech cockpit and eye-catching aesthetics make it a statement on Kampala’s roads.
- Spacious Power and Luxury: The X70 Plus takes SUV comfort to the next level, offering a roomy, premium interior, intelligent driver-assist systems, and rugged performance for both city streets and off-road adventures.
- Advanced Safety: Both models come equipped with state-of-the-art safety technologies, including multiple airbags, stability control, and enhanced suspension systems — ensuring peace of mind wherever you go.
- Exceptional Value: Jetour delivers premium quality at a competitive price, offering Ugandan drivers a practical alternative to used imports, backed by a dedicated local service network.
“With Jetour, we are bringing dependable, feature-rich, and affordable SUVs to a market that has lacked variety for too long,” said Richard Bamujje, Sales Manager. “Whether you’re an individual seeking a premium ride or a company building a fleet, Jetour delivers performance and value that’s hard to beat.”

Driving Uganda Into the Future
The introduction of Jetour’s SUVs comes as Chinese automakers surge on the global stage. In Europe alone, Chinese brands doubled their market share to 5.1% in the first half of 2025, driven by competitive pricing, advanced technology, and strong customer demand.
With DASHING and X70 Plus now available — and the T2 on the way — Jetour is not just launching new vehicles in Uganda. It is setting a new standard for what motorists can expect: brand-new SUVs that combine beauty, brains, and brawn — all at a price designed for real Ugandans.
