Massive jubilations have rocked Iki-Iki Constituency in Budaka district after their favorite MP aspirant Sam Mujomba Gagi decided to erect a gigantic structure for skilling purposes.

The storeyed building located in Iki-Iki Town Council will be used as the tactical offices for various activities including education, agriculture, skilling, women empowerment among other noble causes in the area.
The multi-purpose building according to Hon. Mujomba will have a youth skilling training center as one way to reduce on joblessness among youths.
In addition, the facility will be a center for parents to get school bursaries for the needy pupils, farmers to access proper seeds among others.
“We’re talking about service delivery not politics. Whether you’re a politician or not, people need services and action-oriented leaders. I have brought this facility to help our people the Bagwere on the issue of commercial agriculture so that they can stop working for the stomach alone. There are also other programs we shall run on this same building so that it becomes a one stop center for our people to access specialized services” he said.
Mujomba explained that although he will open up other offices in various subcounties to ease access, this facility will be the coordinating center. He said the people of Iki-Iki subcounty, Iki-Iki Town Council, Kakoli subcounty, Katira subcounty and Kameruka will greatly use this office while those in Greater Kamonkoli subcounty, Migiti subcounty, Kadimonkoli subcounty (which has been housing the Mujomba Foundation) will also use this structure although but will have auxiliary offices in those subcounties to ease on the distance.
“This will be the coordinating center of all activities we do in Iki-Iki Constituency and beyond. We’re not looking at Iki-Iki alone” he explained while talking to a group of NRM mobilizers in the district.
He said Iki-Iki is famous for agriculture the reason he wants agricultural services to be accorded space on this structure so that people can access better services and seedlings. Other priority areas are women groups and youths. He said all along it had been difficult for him to lobby for bigger services for the area because there was no proper coordination mechanism in place. He said with the setting up of these offices, people are going to access all services they have been lacking.
He noted that the Bagwere are basically agricultural people and that putting in place programs that help them to transition from doing subsistence agriculture to commercial agriculture is a welcome move.
“Our people are farmers but majority are doing it for food at home. No commercial element at all. This is what I want to fight. Our people should look at farming as a business. This means they need proper seeds and value addition” he noted and urged them to support NRM and President Museveni.
He promised to use his vast network in government and in the Diaspora to lobby for the area. He said many of his pals in Germany, US and Turkey have pledged to support his endeavors.

Meanwhile, the people thanked him for the initiative. They promised to send him to Parliament to be able to lobby for them for more services.
