How Muhoozi, M7 Troll was nabbed

Musana, who was arrested

By Peter Luuzinda

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Kawala Rachael has revealed that security agencies tracked down and arrested a man accused of making a video insulting the president and the first son from his village in Bukedea.

The arrest of Ivan Musana, 20, came after he was identified through intelligence as the man who, in a video that widely circulated on social media, made inciting statements about the president and his son while wearing a military jacket.

According to Kawala, preliminary investigations found that Musana is not a member of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces.

“Findings further indicate that the suspect falsely presented himself as a UPDF officer while recording the video, which was later uploaded to TikTok” she said.

Kawala revealed that Musana is currently detained at Kawempe Police Station as investigations continue.

“The case file will be forwarded to the Office of the Resident State Attorney for legal review and advice” she said.

Kawala further urged the public to use social media responsibly as the country heads to the polls next week.

“Content that may constitute threats, hate speech, or impersonation of security personnel is punishable under the law and may result in prosecution”
