Police in Entebbe have detained a 26 year- old man for torturing his 2-year old biological son whom he has been beating on daily basis. The merciless dad was identified as Timothy Waswa Muliika, a resident of Nalugala village in Katabi Town Council, Wakiso.
His arrest followed concerns from locals who got concerned the way the suspect was torturing his biological son and consequently reported the matter at Entebbe that swing into action and apprehended him.
Ruthless Muliika is said to have burnt his son’s buttocks on top of beating him on daily basis hence raising serious concern among locals who reported him to police.
Reports indicate that the boy’s mother Rosemary Nakayama, had earlier wanted to report her hubby to police but she was afraid of him till she told her friend who advised her to report the matter to police in order to save the boy’s life.
Nakayima who was previous brutalized by the suspect told police that Muliika came to her and asked her to stay with their son for three days which accepted. However, she was astonished when the suspect returned the boy with multiple bruises all over the body.
The Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesman,ASP -Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed the arrest , noting that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
“It is alleged that the incident happened recently while the child had separated from the mother to stay with the father, only to come back when the child had bruises. An investigation is ongoing after the mother reported the case to police” he said.
Owoyesigyire further appealed to members of the public, to always continue reporting such cases of child torture for police to investigate and bring the culprit to book.
