President Yoweri Museveni has delegated Vice President Maj. Jessica Alupo to represent him at the swearing-in ceremony of Rwandan President-elect Maj. Gen. Paul Kagame.
The inauguration ceremony is slated for tomorrow Sunday August 11 in the Rwandan Capital-Kigali.

According to the Principal Private Secretary to the president, Gloria Asio Omaswa, following the Presidential election in Rwanda, Kigali extended an invitation to President Museveni to attend the inauguration ceremony for the President-elect H.E Paul Kagame.
However, PPS Asio says the son of Maama Esteeri Kokundeka and Mzee Amos Kaguta will not be able to make it to the South western country due to his busy schedule back home.
“H.E Gen. Museveni has instead delegated you (Vice President) to represent him” PPS Asio said in her letter dated August 5 2024 addressed to H.E the Vice President Alupo.
Kagame was reelected President of Rwanda in a presidential election that took place on July 14-15 2024 where he emerged victorious with a landslide margin of over 95%.
Uganda and Rwanda enjoy cordial bilateral relations, facilitating good trade and diplomatic ties between the two sister nations.
