President Museveni has paid tribute to the late Akwatulira Ruth Bulolo, mother to the Senior Presidential Advisor on Busoga in charge of poverty alleviation.
Bulolo passed on at Mulago last week after a long on and off illness.
In a condolence message delivered by state minister for trade Gume Fred, Museveni described the late as a true Patriot whose contribution to the national building shall forever be remembered.
He cited the role she played in parenting especially after nurturing her children responsibly.
“A strong family is the foundation of the nation. Once the family isn’t stable, there cannot be stable nation. And you cannot talk of a stable family without recognizing the role of the mother. The mother is the pillar of discipline in the family” the president said.
He noted that the late Bulolo laid a foundation for her children citing Florence Mutyabule whom he said is doing great work for the nation.
Museveni urged all parents to emulate the late by sparing time to instill morals in their children to supplement the knowledge they attain from school.
The head of state also reminded the population on the importance of observing proper nutrition and also watching their lifestyle. He said currently, the nation is faced with increasing cases of different types of cancer arising from poor life style especially feeding characterized with lack of physical exercises.
“The late (Bulolo) was a good example of someone who observed her diet. We must therefore, always strive to eat what is necessary for our bodies and accompany it with physical exercises. This will make our bodies fit and healthy” he noted.
Meanwhile, Mutyabule thanked the president for the support extended to her following the loss of the mother. The burial took place on Sunday at Mazuba village, Busiki South Constituency, Namutumba district, Busoga Sub Region
