Fireworks In Kakumiro District As PM Nabbanja Is Welcomed Like Queen! PM Promises To Address Gaps In Accessing PDM Cash!

By Juma Nsubuga

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has promised to address concerns among ordinary wanainchi regarding access to the Parish Development Model Funds.

The premier who is the Leader of Government business in parliament and also Kakumiro district Woman MP,  said she’s going to work out mechanisms to ensure that this money benefits the intended category of citizens.

Nabbanja’s statement arose from concerns raised by voters in Kakumiro district who informed her that not all of them had benefited from the much-publicized PDM program.

This was last evening during a mega rally she held at Kikwaya subcounty and Kakindo Town Council where people from near and far converged and welcomed her like a queen.

Clad in a black dress with a matching white blouse, the premier made a triumphantic entry as she snaked into the crowds with vigour amid chantings of Museveni Oyeee, Nabbanja Oyee by her enthusiastic fans.

Accompanied by the Transport State Minister Fred Byamukama and a cross section of local, religious and opinion leaders, Nabbanja started by introducing Byamukama in show of unity among district leaders.

“Byamukama is the minister of state for transport. He is a very good performer and we’re proud of him. Clap for him” she said and the wanainchi did as commanded.

Nabbanja couldn’t forget her mobilization role. She immediately told wanainchi especially men not to get confused by political self seekers.

“Abasigazi, batababuzabuza, (men, they shouldn’t confuse you). Our Mzee (Museveni) is now 80 years and he has stamina. He’s the only one with experience” she said amid chantings of Museveni Oyeee, Nabbanja Oyee.

The premier immediately switched to the purpose of the rally which she said was twofold.

She said the mega  rally had been summoned to rehearse on how the District will receive Gen. Museveni on November 15 2024 when he intends to raid the district and others around on a wealth creation campaign.

“We have come here to plan on how we shall receive our dear president. Those who have remained in the village, please tell that that on November 15, no one should remain behind. When he comes here, let’s receive him with love and vigour so that he feels that the people of Kakumiro really love him” she rallied them.

The second issue for the rally was to check on the academic performance in the district and PDM.

Nabbanja was happy to hear that all school age going children were indeed going to school. The locals told her that the stories of kids being sent home because of fees wasn’t heard of anywhere, something which is in total contrast with other districts where kids are sent home because of fees.

“Are the children studying?” She asked to which voters responded yessss! When she tried to inquire whether some were at home because of fees, the premier was told nothing like that was happening.

The Prime Minister was however, subjected to psychological ulcers especially when voters told her that the PDM program wasn’t running smoothly.

Apparently, Nabbanja informed them that every parish had already received Shs200m and that this money is for the less privileged people to economically emancipate themselves.

“I have come here to assess the performance of PDM. We have sent money. Shs200m per parish. You have four parishes here meaning you have got shs800m. Those who have received this money, raise up your hands” she told them.

Nabbanja couldn’t believe the response. The wanainchi said they hadn’t got this money.

“Eh, (I can’t believe this)” she said to which the people said ‘they gave it to the rich people’

The Prime Minister immediately clarified that this money is for the poor.

“PDM is for the less privileged. When I go back, I am going to address that” she promised as her fans chanted Museveni Oyeee, Nabbanja Oyee.

In a clear show of love and respect, the wanainchi donated food items including matooke to Nabbanja in recognition of her services.

Meanwhile, Byamukama assured them that with Nabbanja in the steering, the people of Kakumiro and Uganda should expect results only.

“We shall work for Kakumiro, work for all Ugandans” he said.

The rally was punctuated with music served by local artists including Ronald Mayinja, Eddie Kenzo among others. Mayinja sent revellers on their toes when he did his song ‘Mzee Akalulu’ in which he praises Museveni for the job well done. He says those who stands against him will continue to register misery.

On the he comes to Kakumiro, the President is expected to launch four acre model campaign for greater Kibaale districts & Kikuube. Nabbanja also organized a similar drive in Kakindo Subcounty and Town council yesterday Sunday where dancing, fireworks etc ruled the event! Well, enjoy the video!
