Don’t Mess! Mbale RCC Tells Youth Leaders To Stay Focused To Achieve Their Goals!

By Alex Menhya

Mbale City Resident Commissioner Asumin Nasike has urged young leaders to remain focused in the pursuit of their goals and dreams.

Nasike made these remarks during a leadership training for transformative and inclusive development, organized by the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC) at Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Mbale.

Nasike, a former youth leader herself, shared her journey from serving as a female councilor in Sironko District to her current role as the Resident City Commissioner of Mbale. She emphasized that dedication, peace, and a willingness to learn are key to a bright future.

Meanwhile, Dr. Muwanga, the Executive Director of JNLC, stated that the training aims to equip young leaders with the skills necessary to adapt to the evolving leadership landscape and manage their futures effectively.

He noted that the first cohort of 100 young leaders is drawn from eastern Uganda, with the next cohort scheduled for Gulu.

Bwayo Emma, the Namisindwa District Male Youth Councilor and one of the beneficiaries of the training, described it as an opportunity to expand his network and enhance his capabilities.

He also urged young people to resist manipulation by politicians who only engage with them during election periods but neglect their concerns afterward.
