Her Excellency Maj. Jessica Rose Alupo Epel, Uganda’s Vice President has arrived in New York to participate in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80).
The VP upon reaching at John F. Kennedy International Airport, was received by Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amb. Adonia Ayebare, and Uganda’s Ambassador to the United States, Amb. Robie Kakonge.
Alupo who is also Katakwi district woman representative, is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on Thursday, September 26, 2025, at exactly 3:00 PM.
She is expected to present Uganda’s position on key global issues including peace and security, sustainable development, climate change, and international cooperation.
Besides her very important address, the Vice President is also expected to hold several bilateral meetings with heads of delegations from different countries, aimed at strengthening Uganda’s diplomatic ties and exploring new areas of cooperation.
The 80th UN General Assembly has brought together world leaders to deliberate on pressing global challenges, providing Uganda with a platform to contribute its voice on issues of international importance.
