Iki-Iki county electorates have appealed to their MP aspirant Mujomba Gagi to help them access their share on the Shs100m which President Museveni recently gave to MPs to deliver to their people.

The appeal was made during a mega rally held in Migiti sub-county by Mujomba.

“We heard the President gave all MPs Shs100m to bring to the constituents. For us we haven’t got anything. Kindly help us get our share” the women told Mujomba.

In response, Mujomba urged them to pressurize their incumbent MP to bring this donation from the President noting that it was duly released and all MPs.

“President Museveni played his part. He really loves his people. Demand for this money because all MPs got it. I am shocked Iki-Iki county hasn’t yet received their share. It was Shs100m that was released” he explained.

The aspirant was welcomed to the rally at Migiti by an army of boda boda riders and women.

Chanting Mujomba Oyeee, Museveni Oyee slogans as the aspirant snaked into the crowds; the voters commended Mujomba for his unwavering support to women groups and youth.

The function was punctuated with music, dance and a heavy buffet.

Woman after another, the locals decorated Mujomba with their robes and dry banana leaves to symbolize their endorsement of his candidature.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowds, Mujomba brought smiles on their faces emphasizing that his tenure as a legislator will prioritize issues affecting women and youths.

The women he noted; need special attention in the area of health and economic empowerment while the youth; need skilling. He caused wild jubilation after revealing that he had set up a multi-purpose office structure in Iki-Iki town council.

He said on this structure, farmers will access seeds free of charge; women and youth will also get skills in areas of soap making, jelly, radio repairs, welding among others.

“I will prioritize health. I want to see if there are drugs in health center IIIs, are the medics there? In schools, if children are in class, are the teachers there? Therefore, I urge you people of Iki-Iki County to vote wisely. Don’t listen to liars. Why do you allow someone to deceive you all the time because he has given you Shs5000? Why don’t you get annoyed?” he wondered to which the locals chorused ‘enough is enough’!

Mujomba noted that expecting mothers suffer a lot yet what they need are affordable items like mama kits and qualified health staff to ensure safe delivery. He added that women need the proper seeds and pesticides to be able to get better yields both for food at home and for the market. He also noted that youths need skills development to be able to start up self-sustaining enterprises. He pledged to continue supporting women groups and provide training to youths and women at his new office at Iki-Iki town council.

“I have come to unblock the drinking straw for Iki-Iki County. Each parish is going to bring 5 girls or women to come for training” he said adding that once elected, he will educate five kids per year from every sub-county in Iki-Iki county in addition to ensuring that the constituency’s education and health needs are given top priority.

Mujomba later embarked on a door-to-door interaction with residents in Kamonkoli Town council. The voters vowed to vote for Mujomba and President Museveni.
