A section of African Presidents have sent congratulatory messages to their Ugandan counterpart Gen. Yoweri Museveni upon his endorsement to represent NRM party for the upcoming national presidential elections for 2026/31.
As the first meeting of the fifth national conference of the national resistance movement (NRM) comes to an end, the African revolutionary parties have applauded Gen Museveni for guiding the African continent.
The African presidents through their political party secretary generals said that they have a strong commitment and attachment with President Museveni and NRM party in particular.
The African revolutionary parties include RPF of Rwanda, ANC of South Africa, UDA of Kenya, SPLA of South Sudan and Republic of Burundi among others.
“I bring warm greetings from president William Ruto and he congratulates Gen. Museveni upon retaining both his positions. The party chairmanship and flag bearer. United Democratic Alliance (UDA) will continue its big and tight relationship with NRM politically, socially and economically” said UDA secretary general said adding that Meseveni is one of the respected fathers on the African continent.
About co-hosting CHAN tournament, he prophesied said that one day, East Africa shall have one team under the the visionary leadership of Gen Museveni.
“I bring warm regards from the Republic of South Africa. President Cyril Ramaphosa has congratulated the father of the continent (Gen. Museveni) upon being entrusted again by his NRM mighty party to hold its flag for the 2026/31 elections. Museveni is only compared to the late Nelson Mandela when it comes to fight for the freedom of Africans” he said.
Another country was South Sudan.
“I bring warm greetings from the Republic of South Sudan and president Salva Kil.We are grateful to be part of this historical conference. SPLM is committed to always be available for all NRM programs. Long live Gen Museveni, Long live the great son of Africa” he said adding that,
“Uganda is hosting a lot of refugees from South Sudan. We thank Gen Museveni for allowing our refugees to be hosted here and we promise to continue walking together in liberation struggle” said the SPLA Secretary general.
As for RPF of Rwanda, the country said it’s leader Paul Kagame was also in high spirits with Museveni’s win.
“Greetings from the RPF and the president of the Republic of Rwanda. Its a great privilege to be part of this historical event. The entire RPF family under President Kagame send greetings to Ugandans most especially to the African son the great Pan-Africanist Gen Museveni” he said.
President Kagame through his party secretary general revealed that the relationship between RPF and NRM is historical and has to keep going.
“We congratulate our senior Gen Museveni for being again endorsed the party flag bearer for the next national election” he said.
Other countries that attended the NRM national delegates conference include, the Republic of Russia, Democratic Republic of Sahrawi and local opposition political parties.
