Former Prime Minister who is also the chief international fundraiser for the proposed Karamoja Peace and Technology University (KAPATU) Amama Mbabazi, has praised the late Toto Victoria Araro for her contribution to the nation.

He says the late Victoria Araro’s remarkable life, marked by her unwavering commitment to discipline, cleanliness, and hard work, leaves an indelible legacy.

“Her formidable role as a mother to ten children, steering them through the journey of life with strict yet loving guidance, speaks volumes of her strength and dedication” he said at a requiem mass to honor the late.

The requiem mass took place at the ancestral home of  her son, Bishop Dominic Eibu in Amotot A Village, Kamidakan Catholic Parish, Apapai Sub-County, Kalaki District. It was led by the Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese with State minister for Ethics and Integrity Akello Rose Lilly who represented the Vice President being the Chief Mourner.

Amama said it is clear that the late was not just a mother in the conventional sense but a pillar of resilience and a beacon of moral integrity for her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

He noted her close friendship with Bp. Eibu her son, saying it is strong evidence of the depth of her character and the boundless love she shared.

Borrowing the scripture particularly the words in Proverbs 31:25-26, the former Prime Minister and currently a special envoy of the president to Ethiopia and the Great lakes region said.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”

Amama said Toto Victoria embodied these virtues, living a life that not only nurtured her family but also enriched the lives of those around her.

“At 93, we thank God for the full life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind—a legacy that will undoubtedly continue to inspire and guide us in the years to come. May the memories of her love, strength, and unwavering spirit bring you comfort and peace. During this difficult time, may you find solace in the love of those who surround you and strength in the faith that was so integral to your mother’s life” he told Bp. Eibu and assured him that he still has friends who care for him after the demise of his dear mom.

Meanwhile, Counsel Severino Twinobusingye, the president of Catholic Lawyers Society International and founding chairperson of KAPATU governing council, also condoled with Rt. Rev. Bp. Eibu.

“Mama Victoria’s impactful life and unwavering commitment to discipline, decency, cleanliness and hard work, distinguished her as a matriarch and has left an indelible legacy. Her great role as a mother to ten great and loving children, guiding them through the path of life with strict as well as loving leadership, tells of her great strength and dedication to the values she held dear” he said.

Twinobusingye noted that it is evident that she was not just an ordinary mother but a matriarch of profound resilience and a standard bearer of the moral ethos for her entire family and all who were blessed and lucky enough to know her closely.

“Your achievement in life as a Roman Catholic Bishop is evidence that she did God’s will as required of her and for this reason, we thank and Glorify God. At her age of 93, we glorify God for the fullest of the life she lived and the legacy she has left behind. This legacy will certainly continue to inspire and guide many generations to come” he said.
