NRM Primaries! Iki-Iki County On Fire As Museveni’s Firebrand Mujomba Gagi Makes Grand Entry In Kamonkoli!

By Emmanuel Otekat Kuluo

Saturday was a busy day for the people of Iki-Iki county, particularly those of Kamonkoli sub-county and Kamonkoli Town Council!

This is because their own son and resident Mujomba S Gagi made a grand entry into this crucial area as he officially launched his campaigns to grab the NRM flag.

Fully nominated to contest for the flag, Mujomba proved to his opponents that he indeed wants to flag and that voters are ready to give it to him, given the way they turned up for his mega rally!

From women, youths to grannies, all roads in Iki-Iki County and beyond led to Kamonkoli to witness the entry of Mujomba whose triumphatic entry could only be equated to Jesus’ entry into Nazareth!

Riding in his white Mercedes Benz and in company of a line of other cars, Mujomba was welcomed by his enthusiastic fans who shouted on top of their voices that Mujomba Oyeee, Mujomba our MP!

“Thank you for coming, we have been yearning for change. Kamonkoli has been neglected for so long. Its now our time to shine. Through Mujomba, we are now made great again” said Hajati Sulaina Minayo.

The women could not hide their excitement towards his candidature and brought several items to decorate the aspiring legislator.

To prove their loyalty to him, some removed their head gear and dressed them on Mujomba while others brought dry banana leaves.

Addressing the crowds, Mujomba promised to address concerns in the constituency touching on health, agriculture, water, economic empowerment for youth/women and education. On education, Mujomba said he was going to educate five children per sub-county per year in case he is sent to parliament. He also announced that part of his strategies to empower the youth is to provide free skilling programs for them at his new offices at Iki-Iki Town council where the youth are going to be trained in hair dressing, mechanics, electronic appliance repairs, salon work, shoe making among other skilling programs. He pledged to also give capital to all graduands to be able to start their own enterprises after being skilled. He also promised to continue supporting women groups.

Regarding agriculture, Mujomba promised to give out free seedlings and pesticides to farmers and also lobby for a fruit factory for Iki-Iki for value addition. He noted that whereas Iki-Iki county and Budaka as a whole are famous for citrus farming, farmers are being cheated as a bag of mangoes is bought at laughable prices the reason a fruit factory must come to the area to add value on those produce.

He also pledged to monitor drugs in health centers to ensure that patients, especially pregnant mothers get antenatal services as required in addition to ensuring that teachers are always in class at the right time. He noted that such services are currently compromised in the constituency because of poor supervision and monitoring. The locals vowed to shower him with votes and also pledged to guard their votes on the voting day.
