The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda Rt.Hon Robinah Nabbanja has called upon all Ugandans to integrate a policy of hand washing on a daily basis at home, schools and workplaces in order to reduce diseases.
Nabbanja made the remarks while representing President Museveni at the first ever presidential dialogue on water, sanitation and hygiene held at parliament.
The global award winner who is also Kakumiro district Woman MP said that hand washing with soap is a fundamental act which needs to be implemented by every Ugandan.
“I call upon all Ugandans to embrace hand washing at anytime whether at home, at institution of learning and workplaces among others in order to reduce disease burden among Ugandans” she pleaded
She further said, this exercise of washing hands must be implemented since almost all Ugandans have access to safe and clean water.
Uganda government invests close to one trillion shillings in water sector but seven trillion shillings is needed to attain water coverage across the country by 2040.
The dialogue was organized under the Theme:Building Resilient Communities, Prioritizing water, sanitation, Hygiene, financing and investment.
