Here They Are! Bagisu Plan To Roast Gen. Museveni On Five Issues As He Commences His Zonal Tours Next Week!

President Museveni resumes his nationwide zonal tours a few days from now. He begins with Bukedi subregion before raiding other subregions including Karamoja, Sebei, Busoga, Teso and Bugisu. The President according to his Vice President Maj. Jessica Alupo who chairs these Zonal Tours, will be touring to mobilize wanainchi on wealth creation initiatives including PDM, Emyooga etcetera. The President will spend three days in each subregion touring model farmers, meet area leaders and also address a mega rally before leaving.

With all subregions having their own issues to be tabled, our Inspectors have chanced on the list of demands the Bamasaaba have coined to table before the man with a round hat.

In this expose, our Inspectors leaked them and here we go briefly about them.

NO MUNICIPALITY IN BUGISU

The greater Bugisu has no single municipality except the City. This according to them contrasts sharply with western uganda where municipalities and cities they claim are many. However, Inspectors revealed a government plan to create Sironko and Manafwa municipalities!

HAJJI HASSAN GGALIWANGO VACANCY

Apparently, the Bagisu think they are entitled to the position of Ambassador of Uganda to Kenya. This position was formerly in the hands of their son Hajji Hassan Ggaliwango who died three years ago. However, Museveni must be ready to explain in detail what went wrong among the Bagisu that he has not found anyone of them to replace the late Hajji.

UNFULFILLED APPOINTMENTS MADE TO INZU YA BAMASAABA

Here, the Head of State may have to revisit his minutes taken by his former PPS Mary Amajo.

Apparently, the Bugisu Cultural Institution has undelivered pledges by President Museveni himself and thinks he supplied carbon dioxide to them in form of possible appointments.

We’re told a meeting by then Bugisu King His Highness Wilson Weasa Wamimbi (RIP) was held with President Museveni 13 years ago during his reign as Umukuuka I of Bamasaaba. Present were the PPS Amajo, Barrister Peter Magomu Mashate the inaugural Attorney General of Bugisu Chiefdom and Samuel Watulatsu the minister in office of Wamimbi. At this meeting Umukuuka Wamimbi politely placed the Chiefdom’s request to President Museveni to appoint two nominees to government positions including  Ministerial positions. The President allegedly immediately directed PPS Amajo to take the CVs of Mashate and Watulatsu and submit to him for deployment.

Mashate then flew back from London to permanently settle in Uganda with Amajo’s full knowledge.

However, the INZU ya BAMASAABA leaders suggest both their nominees are still undeployed and therefore want the General from Rwakitura to explain to them in detail why yet he promised to do the needful.

This to them Chiefdom, is a sign of either being worthless to NRM or simply forgotten.

CABINET POSITION

The Bamasaaba, allegedly also felt marginalized in this government when in the recent reshuffle they lost a full or senior cabinet position that ‘Mabaati celeb’ Goreti Kitutu held. They argue that while the Karamoja Mabaati issue raised ethical concerns, it was ‘unfair’ for Omugagga to have dressed the scam against all Bagisu and decided to takeaway their full cabinet position.

They feel that since there are many sons and daughters of the soil competent enough to fill various national offices, H.E Museveni needs to reconsider his decision. However, in his cabinet slight amendment, Museveni appointed Florence Nambozo (Sironko) as state minister for Karamoja replacing equally affected Mabaati saga queen Agnes Nandutu.

SHORTLIVED AMBASSADORS

Bagisu also have grievances as to why their sons and daughters only serve as ambassadors for only two years and then get knifed. Popular among this claim is Late Wilson Weasa Wamimbi who was in Canada for only  two years before he was kicked out. Walimbwa Peke formerly in India, also served a stint as ambassador for two years while Wagidoso Madibo,  formerly in China and Sudan also saw the same fate. These and many more they cited. However, on a positive note, they acknowledge the fact that Oliver Wonekha has served for ages and credit Museveni for this gesture. Over to you!
