The Archbishop of Church of Uganda the Most Rev Dr Samuel Kazimba Mugalu together with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development Dr Ruth Nankabirwa yesterday consecrated St Francis Church of Uganda at Kakureiju village, Bweronda parish, Kyeshero sub-county in Kanungu district.

The Archbishop who was the main celebrant applauded Anglicans in South western Uganda (Kanungu) for constructing the House of GOD.

Kazimba urged the church to always create saving schemes for income generating projects.

“We must learn to support our church and every church should have income generating projects to enable us keep our values” the Archbishop advised

He further congratulated Uganda parliament for standing independent and firm to pass the Homosexual Law.

“I’m so grateful with our parliament for the decision they took against Homosexuality. For the Western countries to legalize Homosexuality is an abnormal thing which even a chocroach cannot do. We must learn to keep and protect our values” the angry Archbishop added.
Meanwhile, Nankabirwa who was the chief guest at the consecration event promised to sort out the issues of artisanal miners in Kigezi region.
“This region is blessed with natural resources like Gold,Iron ore among others. Am going to sort out artisanal miners by giving them licences to legalize their operations” adding that “I will give licences to all organized artisanal miners since the law is already in place and regulations are out and i signed them to regulate the miners” she confirmed.

Nankabirwa also promised to commission all the stranded electricity power lines across the country.
“Am planning to make electricity connected beginning from the stranded projects where there are poles without wires. Am going to commission those projects country wide” she added.
St Francis Kakureiju (Kanungu) church of Uganda was offered to the Anglicans by Kampala-based business tycoon Esero Musoke.
